ANIMALS OF KAS
We need your help to look after the street dogs and cats of Kas. These animals need the love and care that only humans can give.
The Kas dog pound has 50-70 dogs fenced inside the paddocks, the dogs run loose and you would imagine that they would be aggressive because of their hard lives and their confinement. You could not be more wrong, these dogs are desperate for human company and attention, when you arrive at the pound they all run to the fence to say hello. If you enter the paddocks, these dogs will be all over you asking for pats and cuddles.. Just a little attention makes them delirious with joy. It is heart breaking when you have to say goodbye and leave them behind.
These dogs are not pedigrees and will not win any medals but they have something far better to offer, friendship, kindness and love.
They deserve a better life, please help us to help them, you can do this in the following ways:-
ADOPT A CAT OR DOG
We have a lot of dogs of all sizes, all ages and both sexes, longing for a good home. If you live in Turkey there is no problem with transportation. If you want to take a dog home to any country in Europe, all the necessary papers can be provided by our local vet.
We would be very pleased to see you at the dog pound and we promise that you will be able to find a faithful and loving friend in one of our dogs but you must also promise to be a good friend to the dog you select. We don’t just give our dogs away to get rid of them, we need to know they are going to a good and responsible home.
GIVE MONEY
Many of our animals come to us with sickness or injuries which need to be treated. In addition cats and dogs need to be sterilized to prevent them breeding and causing more problems. Medical care costs a great deal of money and we cannot treat as many animals as we need to. The animals also need feeding on a daily basis to keep them healthy and fit and I am sure you can imagine how expensive this can be.
If you can help any donation however small will be greatly appreciated. There are donation boxes in restaurants and shops in Kas where you can donate small change. Donations can also be made direct to the organisation.
